Pokemon News Issue #124

Welcome back to Pokemon News. Normally this is where we begin by saying that there is new stuff to talk about in the world of Pokemon, but let me take a moment to just say something real quick.

Pokemon Company. Please for the love of Arceus and all that is holy, please stop dropping big news pieces the day my news articles go up. I’m starting to feel like you’re just trolling me now.

Anyway, let’s get into it.

First up, we got a new gameplay trailer of Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. Nothing too special was revealed that dramatically sets it apart from Sun and Moon, but it is still nice to see new things happening on Alola. We also have our first look at the map of Alola in USUM.

What is that dark mass above Poni Island? Is it a portal to the Ultra Dimension? Will part of USUM take place in the Ultra Dimension longer than we did in Sun and Moon? Only time will tell.

We also got confirmation that new Z Moves will be coming to USUM, in the forme of Pokemon specific Z Moves. The first of these moves is Kommo-O’s “Clangorous Soulblaze”. This ultra powerful Z Move suddenly brings Kommo-O into the competitive scene, but only if you use its Z Move. “Clangorous Soulblaze” hits both opposing Pokemon, and raises all of Kommo-O’s stats by one stage. Its like Eevee’s Z Move, but it does damage too.

One last thing. A special demo of Pokken Tournament DX is now available for download on the Nintendo Switch eShop. This demo allows you to participate in 15 separate battles, and includes the ability to battle against both an AI opponent or a local player. The playable fighters in the demo include Pikachu, Charizard, and Empoleon. The Supporters you can choose from include Snivy/Lapras and Reshiram/Cressilia. Go on a download the demo to see what the Switch has in store for the future of Pokemon.

And that’s it for Pokemon News. Which Pokemon do you think should have exclusive Z Moves and what would they do? I’d like to know in the comments below. And with that, I’ll see you guys in the next issue.
