Pokemon News Issue #129

Welcome back to another exciting issue of Pokemon News. Welp, CoroCoro leaked, and then the Pokemon Company followed up with an official trailer showcasing the CoroCoro leak, so let’s get right into it.

The main focus of the trailer showcased two new Z Moves as well as an overhauled Rotom Dex. So first up, Solgaleo and Lunala both received Z Moves of their very own, both of which Necrozma in either of its new formes also has access to as well. These new moves are called “Searing Sunraze Smash” and “Menacing Moonraze Maelstrom”.

Both these moves deal tons of damage and also ignore the ability effects of the opponent’s Pokemon, such as Sturdy. The animations also depict the opponent being sent into Ultra Space before the attack actually hits.

Necrozma is also shown to have access to a brand new move itself, called “Photon Geyser”. This attack’s damage is based off of the Necrozma’s attack and special attack. The attack compares the two stats and uses the highest stat as its attacking power. This is entirely dependent on whether Necrozma is in Dusk Mane or Dawn Wings forme.

While this is all fine and dandy, what was probably the most important thing revealed in this trailer was the updated Rotom Dex.

This new dex not only has more personality than the old version, but by interacting with Rotom more as you travel, you will unlock new abilities that Rotom can use for you, which turn out to be Gen 6’s O-Powers! From speeding up egg hatching, increased exp, and modified encounters, new O-Powers, or should I say Roto Powers include increased HP restoration and increased prize money.

But what is probably the most important thing that Rotom Dex can now do is its own extra special Z Move! Using its own Z Power, Rotom can recharge your Z Ring, allowing you to use you Z Moves a second time! You’ve definitely earned your place with me more so now Rotom Dex.

And that is it for Pokemon News! What do you think of the new and improved Rotom Dex? Let me know in the comments below. And with that, I’ll see you guys in the next issue.
