Pokemon News Issue #134
And welcome to the newest issue of Pokemon News. Now that Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon are out in full force, one would think there wouldn’t be enough news to talk about, but you would be wrong. So….so….wrong. Let’s get into it.
First up, we’ve got a pretty big update to Pokemon GO. As expected, Generation 3 has now become available to some degree more so than during Halloween. Around 50 new Pokemon from Gen 3 are now available to catch in the game, including Treeko, Torchic, and Mudkip. The trailer also depicts Groudon being part of Raid Battles. Another aspect was also add to the game, which if you ask me, makes the game a lot more immersive. Pokemon GO will now take local weather into account when spawning new Pokemon to catch. If its raining, water types will be more available. Though if you ask me, you shouldn’t be out in the rain with your phone. Still though, if Pokemon were real, weather would affect which ones you would find. This makes me want to get out sometime soon to see which ones I can catch.
And now, the story of the hour that has the entire Pokemon community excited, weirded out, and incredibly eager. The live action Detective Pikachu movie has finally cast someone for the role of the human-speaking Pikachu. And this prestigious role goes to the one and only Ryan Reynolds.
That’s right. The man behind the voice and personality behind Deadpool, will be Detective Pikachu.
Whimsicott and I had a lengthy conversation about what this movie would be like, and the Pikachu related jokes that could be cracked in Deadpool 2 as well. Both of us, along with a lot more people are very excited to see what this movie will be like now that the Merc-with-a-Mouth will be the voice of one of gaming’s most iconic characters.
And that’s it for this week. What do you think about Ryan Reynolds playing Pikachu? Let me know in the comments below. And with that, I’ll see you guys in the next issue.
