Pokemon News Issue #145
Welcome back to a small issue of Pokemon News. We’ve got some Let’s Go news and some Go news for you today, so let’s get right into it.
Probably the greatest update to Pokemon Go has dropped as of recently; Generation 4 has been added and Sinnoh native Pokemon have started spawning around the world. Currently though, Gen 4 evolutions such as Honchkrow and Magnezone are not yet implemented, much to my dismay. But on the plus side, I’ve been catching quite a few Turtwig and Piplup in my spare time. Now we wait for the evolutions and the creation trio to appear in raids.
From Go to Let’s Go, a new mechanic in Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee has been unveiled. This new mechanic comes in the form of Master Trainers. These trainers are found all throughout Kanto and will challenge trainers to a special one-on-one battle with a specific Pokemon. These trainers specialize in one specific Pokemon and will only challenge you in a mirror match battle with matching Pokemon; i.e, The Charizard Master will only fight you if you have a Charizard to fight him with. Master Trainers are super strong, and on top of that, their Pokemon have special moves that have a little bit of and advantage against your’s; Venusaur has access to Outrage, Lapras has Solar Beam, and Kabutops has Giga Drain.
So what’s to gain from a Master Trainer if you defeat them? From the battle, you will gain the Master’s Title to be displayed. (Poilwrath Master, Gyarados Master, etc) These titles will be used when going to a Pokemon Center, with Nurse Joy calling you by the title you have selected. Your title will also display whenever you battle against another trainer locally or online.
Give me that Magnemite/Magneton Master title and I’ll be just fine.
And that’s it for Pokemon News. Which title do you want to have in Let’s Go? Let me know in the comments below. And with that, I’ll see you guys in the next issue.
