Pokemon News Issue #149

Welcome back to Pokemon News! E3 2019 has come and gone, and we got a little more information about Pokemon Sword and Shield. Just a little bit of a disclaimer, I’m not gonna be talking about the “National Dex Issue” in Pokemon News. That’s a can of worms I don’t want to open here, the main podcast will do a much better job of breaking down all the information regarding the National Dex. So without further ado, let’s get into it.

While not official, two new Pokemon have been revealed via the E3 demo. So first up, since we’re in the Pokemon variant of England, we’ve got to have a corgi don’t we? Well, we do, and its name is Yamper.

Yamper is a pure Electric type, and has a new ability called Ball Fetch. If Yamper is not holding an item, Yamper will retrieve the first failed Pokeball thrown. So…..there’s that. He’s still hella cute though. Nothing else is known about Yamper at this point.

The only other Pokemon that was shown boasts a new type combinations. This is Impidimp.

Impidimp is our very first Dark/Fairy Type Pokemon. Unfortunately, there is even less information about Impidimp, but we will know more in the future.

Some new functions were also shown off too. The new version of the PSS, now known as the Y-Comm, is the new method by which players can connect either locally or through the Internet to do various things, such as battling and working together in Raid Battles.

Lastly, we got a new gym leader to go with our swole boi Milo. Meet Nessa, the Water Type Gym leader of the Galar Region.

Nessa’s Dynamax Pokemon is confirmed to be Drednaw. Like Milo, her city is unknown, but like Sonya, the fans have fallen in love with her, and fanart is running rampant online.

And that’s it for Pokemon News. What do you think of Yamper, Impidimp, and Nessa? Let me know in the comments below. And as always, I’ll see you guys in the next issue!.
