Welcome to a spooky issue of Pokemon News here on PUCL. (It’s not really that spooky, but its the week of Halloween so I can call it that if I want.)
In Smash Bros news, a lot of information about the upcoming Wii U release of Super Smash Bros was revealed in a special Nintendo Direct. But the most shocking information came at the end. Nintendo confirmed that Mewtwo would be returning as a playable fighter in the form of DLC. He is slated for a Spring 2015 release and is known to be a free download if both the 3DS and Wii U versions are registered by the same person. No information has been released about how much Mewtwo will cost or how he will function in the game. But if Mewtwo is DLC for Smash, what other characters will return as DLC? I hope it isn’t Pichu, because who wants that guy anyway?
In eShop news, Pokemon Art Academy is now available in the United States for download. And just in time for Halloween, two new templates for Gourgeist & Mismagius are free to download, so get sketching.
In demo news, a secret mission has been discovered in the ORAS demo. This mission has you taken to a secret island and facing off with either Team Aqua or Team Magma, with help from May, as they try to relocate the mega evolution Pokemon they were looking for previously. After completing the mission, you will be able to access it anytime by asking Steven to go “somewhere secret”. This mission is pretty rare, but if you play enough, you will be able to trigger the mission.
In distribution news, the mythical Pokemon Diancie is now available for download in the United States. After receiving a code from your local Gamestop, players can download Diancie for themselves. But after receiving Diancie from the delivery girl at the Pokemon Center, your character is approached by two people, a butler and a maid, who ask you if you want to give your new Diancie to them so they can give it to their master, who has been looking for one for a long time. After declining twice, the master will show up and apologize for any inconvenience. The three will leave and you will safely have Diancie all to yourself. This encounter did have me kinda scared when it happened. Did it startle you too?
Anyway, that’s it for Pokemon news. See you guys next week, and Happy Halloween!
