Prizing and Entry Fees

All entry fees will give 50% to prizing and 50% for the venue cost. PUCL does not pay its organizers or tournament staff. It is meant to be an experience for all Pokémon players to enjoy at minimal financial cost to them.

Side Events

Cost for side events will be handled by purchasing “Side Event Tickets”. These will be available for purchase at $2 for 1 ticket and $5 for 3 tickets. You can only participate in these events by purchasing tickets. The costs are below for each event.

Event Definition and Rules

Standard TCG: 

  • XY-Breakthrough and any expansions released afterward
  • Black Star Promo cards numbered XY67 and up, and SM01 and up
  • Cards from the following products are also legal:
    ▪ Generations
    ▪ XY trainer Kit- Pikachu Libre & Suicune
    ▪ Sun & Moon Trainer Kit- Lycanroc and Alolan Raichu
    ▪ McDonald’s Collection 2016

VGC 2018 Format:

Pick Up TCG, VGC, TCG Drafts and Pokkén Tournament 8 Man Pods: 

  • 8 Players together can choose the rules of a 3 round Swiss tournament for the desired game.

Gold, Silver, and Crystal Virtual Console Tournament:

  • Each player needs to own a copy of Pokémon Gold, Silver, or Crystal on their 3DS and a party of 6 Pokémon. The players will then compete in a Swiss format to decide top players.
  • Mew, Mewtwo, Lugia, Ho-Oh, and Celebi cannot be used.

Multi battle Tournament:

  • Players Must sign up in teams of two players.
  • Battles will double battles with two players on each side selecting 2 Pokémon apiece.
  • Mewtwo, Mew, Lugia, Ho-Oh, Celebi, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Phione, Manaphy, Darkrai, Shaymin, Arceus, Victini, Reshiram, Zekrom, Kyurem, Keldeo, Meloetta, Genesect, Xerneas, Yveltal, Zygarde, Diancie, Hoopa, Volcanion, Cosmog, Cosmoem, Solgaleo, Lunala, Necrozma, Magearna, Marshadow, and Zeraora cannot be used.

Little Cup Tournament:

  • All Pokémon must be level 5 or below.
  • All Pokémon must be in their lowest possible evolution state and capable of evolving.
  • All battles will be single 6v6 battles.
  • Tournament will be Swiss format.
  • Aipom, Cutiefly, Drifloon, Gligar, Gothita, Meditite, Misdreavus, Murkrow, Porygon, Scyther, Sneasel, Swirlix, Tangela, Torchic, Vulpix, and Yanma cannot be used.

Theme Deck Tournament:

  • You may use any Pokémon TCG Theme Deck regardless of set.
  • The cards from the deck-list must be the same as the theme deck with no modifications.
  • Tournament will be single match Swiss format.

Battle Royal:

  • 4 Players will compete in a Battle Royal each round.
  • Mewtwo, Mew, Lugia, Ho-Oh, Celebi, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Phione, Manaphy, Darkrai, Shaymin, Arceus, Victini, Reshiram, Zekrom, Kyurem, Keldeo, Meloetta, Genesect, Xerneas, Yveltal, Zygarde, Diancie, Hoopa, Volcanion, Cosmog, Cosmoem, Solgaleo, Lunala, Necrozma, Magearna, Marshadow, and Zeraora cannot be used.

Pokemon Stadium 2 Minigame Tournament:

  • Pokemon Stadium 2 mini-games will be played in 4-man pods and single elimination will be applied to determine a winner.
