This Week in Pokemon History (April 2010- 2013)

And I’m back to my regularly scheduled upload time. Its me, Viger, and this time around, we’ve got a new month and new history to cover. So without further ado, let’s dive right in.

April 10 – On this day in Pokemon History, the world got its first CoroCoro sponsored look at the next main series Pokemon games, of which would start of the fifth generation of Pokemon. Dubbed “Pokemon Black and Pokemon White”, CoroCoro showed off limited screenshots of Black and White’s overworld, the player characters, the new look of Pokemon battles, and two brand new Pokemon, of which we now know as Zorua and Zoroark. The weeks that followed would heavily monitor the news that pertained to these new games and speculation would rise up as to how Zorua might evolve into Zoroark, or how one my obtain a Zorua when the game was released.

April was a pretty dry month in Pokemon News. Black and White had just released worldwide and every trainer around the world was exploring the Unova region and catching all the new Pokemon the region had to offer. Black 2 and White 2 were still a ways off, and no other new Pokemon game was being hinted at yet.

April 13 – CoroCoro once again struck this year with a lot of information about the upcoming sequel to Black and White. “Black 2 and White 2” were covered in depth with the issue, with CoroCoro revealing the new trainers, the new rival, new gym leaders, Coloris, and the new Unova map. The magazine also showed off a new forme for the Mythical Pokemon Meloetta, known as her “Pirouette” forme, which added the Fighting Type to her setup. A trailer confirming the new information would follow in the coming days, and Pokemon fans were excited to return to Unova for another adventure.

And that’s it for this week. A lot of Black and White stuff here for the month of April, and if this is what happened in those years during this month, who knows what CoroCoro might leak for THIS April. Either way, I’ll see you guys in the next issue!
