U.U.T.C. 2018 Information


  1. You can register for the U.U.T.C. by registering on the site. The deadline for registration is 11:59 PM Eastern January 27th The first round bracket will be posted at 12:01 AM Eastern on January 29th. You can sign up here.
  2. The tournament will be 5 rounds (1 round per week) of Swiss unless more than 32 people sign up, with a top cut of 8.
  3. The tournament bracket will be posted every Monday during the tournament.
  4. All Battles for the current round must take place within a week of the tournament bracket being posted.
    • Failure to complete your battle will result in disqualification from the tournament.
    • After the battle please send the battle video to pucltournament@gmail.com for review and to potentially be featured on our youtube channel
  5. All battles will be 6v6 single battles, that also apply evasion clause, sleep clause, species clause, endless battle clause, OHKO clause and Moody Clause.
    • Evasion Clause: No moves boosting evasion allowed (double team, minimize, etc.)
    • Baton Pass Clause: No Baton Pass allowed
    • Sleep Clause: Only one of the opponent’s pokemon may be asleep at a time.
    • Species Clause: Only one Pokemon of a national dex number may be used on a team.
    • Endless Battle Clause: Any move-set on any Pokemon that is capable of intentionally causing an endless battle is banned from competitive play.
      • By addition, if someone is found to be taking an absurdly long time to select their moves in multiple instances they shall be banned.
    • OHKO Clause:  A Pokemon may not have the moves Fissure, Guillotine, Horn Drill, or Sheer Cold in its move-set.
    • Moody Clause: No Pokemon with the Moody ability is allowed.
    • Swagger Clause: No Pokemon with the move Swagger is allowed.
    • Item Clause: A roster can not have more than 3 of the same items
  6. A copy of Ultra Sun or Ultra Moon is required.
  7. Team requirements
    • All teams must obey the banlist for OU. You can see the ban list here.
    • You are allowed a roster of 10 Pokemon throughout the tournament to choose from in your battles.
    • You are allowed a maximum of two Mega’s on your 10 member roster.
    • You are allowed a Maximum of 2 Z crystals in your 10 member roster
    • Your Pokemon’s moves, items, nature, stats and abilities have to remain the same for the duration of the tournament.
    • Your roster will be visible to all competitors. Only the species will be disclosed.
      • Stats, moves, natures, items, and abilities will not be disclosed.
  8. Disqualification from the tournament will be done for the following:
    • Not completing your battle within a week of the bracket being posted.
    • Bringing a Pokemon that is listed on the U.U.T.C. banlist
    • Breaking a Clause
    • Posting a battle video without the permission of your opponent.
    • Revealing another competitor’s move-set without their permission.
